How to Design Your First $3,000 Coaching Program (Even If You’re Just Starting Out)

So you’re a newly qualified coach. You’ve got the skills. You’ve got the heart. You’re ready to make a difference.

But when it comes to creating your first coaching packages, especially a high-ticket one, you hit a wall.

What should I include?
How long should it be?
Can I charge that much?

If you’re stuck in this phase, you’re in the right place, I’m going to walk you through how to design your very first $3,000 coaching program—the kind of offer that becomes your signature package and helps you make consistent income while delivering incredible results.

Let’s get into it.

Start With a Price You Can Actually Sell Your Coaching Package For

“High-ticket” is subjective. For some it’s $3K, for others it’s $10K. But if you’re brand new, $3,000 is the sweet spot. Over the last 10 years I have worked with hundreds of new coaches, and what I saw is that most struggle to pick a price because they do not understand or believe in their own value yet.

The price should be high enough to establish your professionalism and facilitate real transformation, but it should not be so high that it triggers imposter syndrome, which is very common among new coaches.

Most importantly? It’s a number you can confidently say out loud, without flinching—if you show uncertainty, selling will be hard. Confidence is very important when it comes to selling on your discovery calls. People will think something is off if you shrink a little every time you mention your prices. So be aware of this.

And don’t worry, this price isn’t permanent. A well-designed $3K offer can easily grow into a $5K or $10K package as your experience and testimonials grow.

Ditch the Single Coaching Sessions and Design a Journey

Let’s talk structure. If you’re tempted to sell single sessions to “get people through the door,” you’re stealing from yourself and your clients.

Single sessions are often easy for clients to agree to because they involve low risk, but they also provide minimal benefits. They don’t build commitment, they don’t deliver deep transformation, and they don’t pay you what your time is worth.

Instead, map out the full transformation journey you want your ideal client to take.

Ask yourself:

  • Where are they when they start?
  • Where do they want to be?
  • What’s the most effective, supportive, and aligned way you can get them there?

This becomes your $3,000 offer.

Maybe it’s 12 weekly sessions. Maybe it’s an intensive followed by monthly check-ins. Maybe it’s a hybrid of live coaching, tools, templates, and email support.

The exact format isn’t the point. The transformation is.

Don’t Water Your Package Down to Make It Cheaper

One of the biggest mistakes new coaches make? Editing the program based on price.

They think, “Oh no, no one will pay that much,” and start cutting things out.

But when you do that, you actually rob your clients of the results they came for.

Instead, design your program based on what it actually takes to get someone from A to B. Then price it appropriately. Remember, people will show up for the results they deeply want—especially if they believe you can help them get there.

Name Your Prospects’ Struggles and Speak to the Pain

Once the structure is mapped, get super clear on two things:

  1. The core struggles your clients have right now.
  2. The dream outcomes they want most.

This is marketing gold. Your messaging (and your program name) should come directly from these insights.

Do a quick gut check: Which of these struggles are people actively trying to solve (a.k.a. willing to pay for)? Use keyword research if you want to go deeper.

Then reverse engineer your messaging from there. Make it obvious who it’s for, what problem it solves, and what life looks like after working with you.

To Show the Price or Not to Show the Price?

You might be wondering if you should list your $3K price on your website. Here’s my take:

Don’t.

At least not for your signature offer.

Here’s why: Until someone fully understands the value, the price often feels too high. But if you walk them through the struggles you solve, the support you provide, and the outcomes you deliver—then tell them the price—it becomes a no-brainer.

Let your discovery call do the heavy lifting. Your sales page should hook their interest, highlight the pain and the promise, and get them to book the call. The call is where the conversion happens.

If It’s Not Selling, It’s Probably Your Messaging (Not Your Program)

One last thing.

If you launch this $3,000 offer and it’s not selling right away, don’t panic and assume your program sucks. Odds are, it’s not the offer—it’s how you’re talking about it.

Your message needs to connect emotionally and clearly show how your program is the bridge between where they are and where they want to be.

Dial that in, and you’ll be surprised how quickly the right people start saying yes.

Ready to Sell Your First Signature Coaching Offer?

This is exactly the kind of work I do with my coaching clients. If you want support creating, pricing, and selling your first $3K package with confidence, book a discovery call and let’s talk.

You don’t have to piece it together alone.

You’ve got the tools. You’ve got the desire to make an impact on people’s lives. Let’s build the offer that puts you on the map!
